Less than a year from now, on April 8, 2014, Microsoft will end Windows XP and Office 2003 support.
Companies who will be still using those products will be vulnerable and exposed to security threats.
Even though EOL is approaching fast, Microsoft has failed to convince business to upgrade to Windows 8 pro and Office 2013 standard.
WIth new campaign Microsoft is offering up to 15% discount to SMBs who decide to upgrade to Windows 8 pro and Office 2013 standard – availability will vary by geography.
Deal is only valid to customers who are using Windows XP – Windows 8 pro and Office 2013 standard must be purchased as a package via Microsoft Open licence program.
Deal is limited to 249 licences each.
Offer expires on June 30.
Microsoft has failed to move business to Windows 8, one of the reasons is missing Classic Start menu which Microsoft aims to fix in next version.
What is interesting to see is that Windows Vista still has bigger chunk of pie 4.75% compared to Windows 8 3.82%
King of the hill is Windows 7 with 44.72%, followed by Windows XP 38.31%
